While each briefing should be tailored to your client`s case, there`s no need to reinvent the wheel if you don`t have to. It is relatively common for lawyers to reuse certain sentences or terms (or even entire sections) of pleadings when the legal issues are the same in all cases. The danger, of course, is to quote authorities who were once good laws but are no longer good laws. Even if you`ve managed to reuse a particular short section over and over again, it`s still a good idea to run your letter in the writing assistant before filing it via West Check. This tool uses KeyCite directly in your word processing application to quickly determine if the law you are citing is still good. Adalah (“Justice” in Arabic) is an independent human rights organization and legal center. It was founded in November 1996 as a joint project of two leading Arab NGOs – the Galilee Society and the Arab Association for Human Rights (HRA) – and became an independent NGO in 1997. 2010/2011 – Targeted Citizen & The Inequality Report (March 2011) – The Inequality Report outlines some of the legal and political structures that allow for systematic discrimination against members of the Palestinian Arab minority in Israel and fuel inequality between Arab and Jewish citizens of the state. Targeted Citizen is a short film produced by Adalah about discrimination against Arab citizens in Israel with a soundtrack by palestinian rap group DAM. It was directed by Rachel Leah Jones. Targeted Citizen was published with the inequality report as part of Adalah`s “Inequality Series”. 2008 – South Africa: Human Sciences Research Council – Adalah, in collaboration with Al Haq and lawyers/academics from Ireland, the United Kingdom and South Africa, participated in the preparation of a legal study that later became a book edited by Virginia Tilley, “Beyond Occupation: Apartheid, Colonialism and International Law in the Occupied Palestinian Territories” (2012). This study was based on issues raised by the UN Special Rapporteur on the OPT, Professor John Dugard.

1999 – Adalah publishes Adalah`s Review. Volume 1 – Politics, Identity and Law (Autumn 1999) – The first volume of Adalah Review aims to open a multidisciplinary and multi-level discussion on politics, law and identity, with most authors dealing with the politics of Arab-Palestinian identity in the Israeli legal field. Ayala Procaccia, retired judge of the Supreme Court of Israel: “A significant number of historic Supreme Court decisions on human rights issues have been rendered in response to petitions from Adalah. Adalah, under the direction of lawyer [Hassan] Jabareen, stands out for his commitment, determination and professionalism. It is an organization that works to promote human rights through legal and non-legal means, with exceptional intellectual abilities, strong moral commitment and an expansive vision of Israeli society in all its diversity. These qualities have given Adalah its unique place in the human rights landscape in Israel. Adalah`s mission is to promote human rights in Israel in general and the rights of the Palestinian minority, the citizens of Israel, in particular (about 1.5 million people, or 20% of the population). This work also includes the promotion and protection of the human rights of all persons under the jurisdiction of the State of Israel (e.g. Palestinian residents of the OPT). Adalah is the first Legal Center run by Arab Palestinians in Israel and the only Palestinian organization working before Israeli courts to protect the human rights of Palestinians in Israel and the OPT.

2012 – On Torture (June 2012) – On Torture is an edited journal with essays by Palestinian, Israeli and international legal and medical experts and practitioners. It is based on presentations given at an international expert workshop organized by Adalah, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel and Al Mezan in Jerusalem. Once you have completed your order, you need to review and completely edit your document. I always found it useful to print my letter during proofreading so I wouldn`t fall into a lull when I was looking at my computer screen. It can also be very helpful for a colleague to go through the document and make suggestions. The design wizard has great tools to help you review your document, including Cite formatting, which allows you to check your citations for typos, and document formatting, which allows you to make sure you`re following court guidelines for things like fonts, letter sizes and margins. Each standard legal mandate contains a few basic elements: August-September 2001 – United Nations World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance – Durban, South Africa. March 1998 – First report to the United Nations Human Rights Treaty Body, the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD), entitled “Legal violations of the rights of Arab minorities in Israel”.
